We are looking at the next family trip away, and are looking to going ti the forest of Dean - which is within 1 hour of us all.
Thinking about the day out in the FoD; first week of the half term - thinking of going on the saturday with the intention of any other members of your family coming along if they wanted;
Suggestion: meeting at the Cannop cycle centre, which is on the B4234, postcode GL16 7LH but it says to check your map because that could put you in Coleford - down the road!
Theres a cafe there and the car park would cost £3 for the day.
Suggest meeting at 10.30 (opens 10am in winter) for a hot tea/ coffee with intentions of heading off for a trial of one of the trails, lunch say 12.30-1.30 (bring own picnic - or buy from the cafe - or even getinto Coleford for hot food take-away?) Then possible second ride on another trail. The new Verderers Trail is graded blue so should be OK for kids ... home for 4.30-5.
Dont think there are changing facilities so be prepared ...
